Paintings and Projects > Project: Constant and Variable

Constant and Variable explores the opposite words with attention to the tension points where an image can be both a constant and a variable and where the image that references the word is only barely separate from the other word. Mathematical constants will represent constants and various decorative components (wallpaper, border stencils) will represent variables. The goal of the project is to leave the viewer uncomfortable with what constitutes the definition of a word, sometimes the images themselves and the tension points all resulting in conversation about this conceptual approach toward the oppositional pair, constant and variable.
